Immunizations are one of public health’s greatest achievements. Vaccines help prevent diseases and help keep Californians of all ages healthy. Making sure all kids get their routine shots on time gives them a healthy start in life. The immunization program provides leadership and support to public and private sector efforts to protect the population against vaccine-preventable diseases.
The incumbent provides administrative support to the Immunization Field Services Chief and Assistant Section Chief. The assistant performs a variety of complex and technical administrative project work requiring a high degree of initiative and creativity.
Covered under University series concept / job specification for classification 4722. Under general direction works on operational and/or procedural assignments that require the exercise of considerable discretion and independent judgment. Understands implications of work and makes recommendations for solutions. Determines methods and procedures on new assignments.The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy.
Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement.
The salary range for this position is $29.03 – $41.55 (Hourly Rate).

Required Qualifications
- BA or BS degree and at least 3 years of equivalent experience in a fast-paced professional office environment (experience in public health preferred)
- Intermediate to Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access and Outlook
- Work well under pressure and to change direction when circumstances demand
- Learn new tools and technologies and build efficiencies into current processes
- Manage workload and coordinate work of other staff to improve work quality and efficiency
- Establish and maintain complete confidentiality on all business matters
- Effectively communicate and collaborate with a diverse range of staff and job functions
- Speak and write effectively in English (strong verbal and written communication skills, excellent command of English grammar)
- Independently lead and manage a variety of complex projects
- Problem-solve; must have the ability to proactively identify gaps and find ways to bridge them to avoid problems
- Impact the organization positively with excellent customer service skills
