About the Opportunity
Reporting to one of the Directors of Finance, the Administrative Assistant is responsible for supporting the daily operations of the finance department and providing administrative support to the Finance team, broadly. The role is primarily intended to provide support at the Manager and Director level, and the Director group will determine priorities for this role. The Administrative Assistant will provide support to teams, individuals, committees and working groups as assigned. Their overall objective will be to facilitate and coordinate the administrative operations and functions in support of the goals and objectives of the department.
The Administrative Assistant will provide administrative coverage in the absence of the Administrative Assistant to the Senior Director of Finance.
The Administrative Assistant ensures that the principles and practices that guide NSHA such as the vision, mission, values, expected behaviours, the leadership philosophy, organizational health, population health, ethics, safety, quality, partnerships and interprofessional collaboration are integrated within the work that they do.
About You
We would love to hear from you if you have the following:
- Post-Secondary diploma in a recognized office administration, business administration or secretarial program; or undergraduate degree combined with sufficient administrative experience
- International Association of Administrative Professionals (IAAP) certification is an asset
- The Administrative Assistant requires a minimum of 3 years’ experience in an administrative support or equivalent position utilizing required skills. In particular, demonstrated excellent communication, interpersonal, prioritization and organizational skills.
- This role will be people-facing and a friendly customer service orientation is paramount.
- Demonstrated competencies, skills and abilities in all facets of modern office practices and technology. Experience utilizing technology for communication, planning, meetings, and to streamline tracking and retrieval of information.
- Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

Hours
- Permanent, full-time position, 75 hrs bi-weekly
Compensation and Benefits
$22.34 – $27.92 Hourly
Successful candidates may be eligible for our benefits package which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
